Mother Nature, Baptize Me

My cold plunge prayer

Mother, I come to you

With worry and fear.

Thoughts clouded with news

Of darkness and doubt.

Heavy are my thoughts

And shoulders with the

Weight of all the worries

Of the world.

The sound of your water

Quiets my mind.

I can no longer hear anything

Except the crashing

Of cascades over rocks.

My vision becomes clear

Focusing on the beauty

All around me.

It's everywhere.

I wade into the water

As all my thoughts

Fade further away

With each step.

I dive into your waters

Becoming fully submersed.

An all encompassing

Experience.

You hold me

As any good mother does.

I trust you will support me

And I float.

I am rinsed clean

Of worry and doubt.

Renewed in your waters

Of light and love.
